According to media reports, Pakistan has taken this decision due to the controversy that arose after Indian players refused to shake hands. They had demanded the removal of ICC match referee Andy Pycroft, alleging that he had sided with India in the handshake controversy during the match against India. The Pakistan Cricket Board's second email to the ICC requesting Andy Pycroft's removal from the post of match referee in the Asia Cup has also been rejected. As such, the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has asked the Pakistani team to stay in the hotel. There are reports that PCB chief Mohsin Naqvi will soon hold an emergency press conference.
