Sports News: Three Afghan cricketers have been killed in a Pakistani air strike in Paktika, the southern province of Afghanistan. The Afghanistan Cricket Board (ACB) has strongly condemned the incident and expressed deep sorrow and has decided to withdraw from the upcoming triangular T20 series against Pakistan.

Three young cricketers lost their lives

According to the report, the attack took place in the Urgun district of Paktika province, where a total of eight people were killed in the airstrike by Pakistan. These included three players associated with the Afghan cricket team—Kabir, Sibgatullah and Haroon. Seven people have been injured in the attack. It is being said that these players were practicing at the local level when this attack took place.

Afghanistan Cricket Board statement

The Afghanistan Cricket Board said in a statement released on social media, "We deeply mourn the martyrdom of our brave players, who were targeted in a cowardly attack by the government of Pakistan. These youngsters were the future of Afghanistan cricket, whose dreams remained unfulfilled."

The ACB also announced that it was withdrawing from the tri-series T20 series with Pakistan and Sri Lanka. The board said that playing in such conditions would be against the morale of the players and the dignity of the country.

Attack despite increasing tension and ceasefire

In recent times, tension between Pakistan and Afghanistan regarding border disputes has been increasing continuously. Both the countries had declared a 48-hour ceasefire, but despite this, this attack took place, due to which the relations between the two countries have further deteriorated.

After this incident, many players, including Afghan cricketer Rashid Khan, expressed anger on social media. Rashid Khan wrote, "Innocent civilians and our young cricketers lost their lives in this inhuman attack. These players were dreaming of one day bringing glory to Afghanistan. Condemning such a barbaric attack cannot be enough."
