Sports News: Following widespread speculation on social media, Mary D’Costa has broken her silence regarding alleged viral chats with Palaash Muchhal. She clarified that the messages being circulated were quoted out of context. D’Costa stated that she chose to speak now because false claims linking her as a choreographer were gaining momentum. She emphasised that she never intended to harm anyone and has no involvement in any controversy. Her statement aims to end ongoing rumours that began after Muchhal’s postponed wedding.
D’Costa mentioned in her Instagram post that she has never met Palaash Muchhal in person. She further claimed that their communication lasted only between 29 April and 30 May 2025. She stated that no conversation between them could be interpreted negatively. According to her, the alleged chat presented online has been exaggerated. She highlighted that she is not associated with Muchhal in any professional or personal capacity. Her post attempts to disconnect herself fully from the circulating allegations.
In her clarification, Mary D’Costa strongly denied being the choreographer linked to the viral chats. She said the role mentioned in rumours does not belong to her and has been wrongly attributed. D’Costa stressed that associating her with that identity has misled the public. She expressed disappointment that her name was dragged without verification. Her statement underlined that misinformation has caused unnecessary confusion. She urged people not to attach her name to any such narrative.
According to D’Costa, she had tried exposing the chat back in July, but the matter did not catch attention as Palaash was not widely in the spotlight then. Once speculation began around the choreographer angle, she felt compelled to clarify the matter publicly. The controversy intensified after reports emerged of Muchhal’s wedding with Smriti Mandhana being postponed indefinitely. Online users began suggesting betrayal allegations, which further fueled discussion. Her clarification is intended to halt baseless assumptions.
Mary D’Costa expressed admiration for Smriti Mandhana in her post, stating she would never wish harm on another woman. She clarified that she is not the girl involved in any alleged wrongdoing. D’Costa mentioned that her post was not against anyone but only to protect her identity. She urged media outlets not to circulate speculative content or use her pictures irresponsibly. Her remarks aimed to maintain dignity amid ongoing media attention. She called for responsible reporting from all parties.
The wedding between Smriti Mandhana and Palaash Muchhal, scheduled for 23 November, was postponed indefinitely. Following this delay, social media saw claims of betrayal and emotional fallout. Reports suggest that Mandhana removed wedding and engagement posts from her Instagram profile. Indian cricketer Jemimah Rodrigues also deleted related photos and videos. These actions intensified rumours of relationship issues. D’Costa’s clarification was perceived as an attempt to stop being implicated in the matter.
Smriti Mandhana’s father, Srinivas Mandhana, was reportedly hospitalised due to a cardiac condition last Sunday. Around the same time, Palaash Muchhal was admitted for treatment related to viral infection and acidity. He was discharged a day later, while Mandhana’s father was released from Sangli’s Sarvahit Hospital and Medical Research Centre on Tuesday. These events added stress during a sensitive period. The family has not issued any official statement on the wedding status.
