Rishabh Pant named captain as BCCI announces India A squad for South Africa A (X/BCCI/TIN)

Rishabh Pant named captain: The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has given huge responsibility to the wicketkeeper, Rishabh Pant. He was named as captain of the A squads for the for the two four-day matches against South Africa A. The cricket match is scheduled to start from October 30 on the Proteas A side at the BCCI Centre of Excellence, Bengaluru.

Rishabh Pant (C) (WK), Ayush Mhatre, N Jagdeesan (WK), Devdutt Padikkal, Sai Sudharsan (VC), Harsh Dubey, Manav Suthar, Rajat Patidar, Tanush Kotian, Saransh Jain, Anshul Kamboj, Ayush Badoni, Yash Thakur.

Rishabh Pant (C) (WK), KL Rahul, Dhruv Jurel (WK), Sai Sudharsan (VC), Devdutt Padikkal, Harsh Dubey, Ruturaj Gaikwad, Manav Suthar, Tanush Kotian, Gurnoor Brar, Khaleel Ahmed, Prasidh Krishna, Abhimanyu Easwaran, Akash Deep, Mohammed Siraj.

Rishabh Pant's recovery journey

As Rishanb Pant has been given a big responsibility by the BCCI, it is to be noted here that he has fully recovered from fractured foot. Earlier, in July, the cricketer had fractured his left foot in the Old Trafford Test. After that he was in the final stage of rehabilitation. Notably, he was also supposed to undergo a fitness test at the Centre of Excellence.

Rishabh Pant was away from WI Test series due to injury

After his injury, Pant couldn't play the two-match Test series against the West Indies. He suffered the injury during India's fourth Test against England in July. Post his injury, the cricketer was asked to take six weeks' rest.
