Smriti Mandhana Created History: Indian women's team vice-captain Smriti Mandhana has created history in ODI cricket. She has become the fastest Indian player to score a century. She surpassed Team India's legendary player Virat Kohli by scoring a century in just 50 balls against the Australian women's team. Virat Kohli had scored a century in 52 balls against Australia in 2013. Now, after 12 years, Smriti Mandhana has broken his record. Apart from this, Smriti has become the second woman batsman in the world to score the fastest century in women's ODI.

Smriti Mandhana made history in the third ODI against Australia Women. She reached her century in 50 balls, hitting 14 fours and four sixes. However, she couldn't extend her innings much further after that. She returned to the pavilion after scoring 125 runs in 63 balls, hitting 17 fours and five sixes.
Prior to this, she had also scored a century in the second ODI against Australia. In that match, Smriti scored 117 runs in 91 balls, hitting 14 fours and four sixes. By scoring a blistering century in the third ODI against Australia, Team India's vice-captain surpassed Australian batsman Beth Mooney.
Smriti Mandhana smashed a blistering century against Australia, setting a new record in women's ODIs. She became the second-fastest batsman to score a century in women's ODIs. The record for the fastest century in women's ODIs is held by Australia's Meg Lanning. She scored a century in 45 balls against New Zealand in 2012. Smriti Mandhana has reached second place. Third on this list is Australia's Beth Mooney, who reached her century in 57 balls in the same match.
Additionally, Smriti Mandhana also reached her fourth ODI century in 2025. She previously scored four centuries in 2024. She has held the record for most centuries in a single year for two consecutive years. South Africa's Tajmin Brits also scored four ODI centuries this year.
