Under-19 World Cup: India Off To Superb Start, Thrash USA By Six Wickets

India defeated the USA by 6 wickets to give their campaign at the Under-19 World Cup a roaring start on Thursday.

Bulawayo: India dominated with both bat and ball to thrash the USA by 6 wickets and give their campaign a rip roaring start at the Under-19 World Cup a roaring start on Thursday. 

What happened during the match?

The USA team, batting first, could only manage 107 runs in 35.2 overs, losing all their wickets. The Indian bowlers put in a stellar performance, with Henil Patel taking 5 wickets (5/16), the first five-wicket haul of the tournament. Vaibhav Suryavanshi, Deepesh Devendran, Khilan Patel, and RS Ambrish also chipped in with wickets. For the USA, Nitish Sudini top-scored with 36 runs, but no other batsman could make a significant contribution. The Indian fielding was also exceptional, with Vihan Malhotra's run-out being a notable highlight.

The USA's innings got off to a poor start, losing Amritinder Gill (1) in the second over, dismissed by Henil Patel. Arjun Mahesh and Sahil Garg tried to stabilize the innings, but the Indian bowling attack proved too strong for the American batsmen. Arjun Mahesh and Sahil Garg were dismissed for 16 runs each, while Adnit Jhamb scored 18.

The remaining seven batsmen failed to reach double figures. Vaibhav Suryavanshi, bowling the 36th over, dismissed Nitish Sudini on the second ball, bringing the USA innings to an end at 107 runs. Nitish Sudini's 36 was the highest score for the team.
