ICC T20I Rankings: Varun Chakravarthy Becomes World’s No.1 T20I Bowler

Indian spinner Varun Chakraborty has topped the ICC Men's T20I bowling rankings for the first time. This achievement is recorded as the third for an Indian bowler after Jaspreet Bumrah and Ravi Bishnoi.

Varun Chakravarthy Becomes World’s No.1 T20I Bowler

Sports News: Indian spinner Varun Chakraborty has topped the ICC Men's T20I bowling rankings for the first time. This achievement is recorded as the third for an Indian bowler after Jaspreet Bumrah and Ravi Bishnoi. 34-year-old Varun has received this honor for a recent excellent performance. In the Asia Cup 2025 also, Varun performed well for India, in which he took 1 wicket for 4 runs against UAE and 1 for 24 against Pakistan.

Adam Zampa at fourth position

On the basis of this performance, Varun jumped three places in the ICC bowlers rankings and finished number 1, leaving behind New Zealand's Jacob Duffy. At the same time, Akil Hussain of the West Indies remains third and Adam Zampa of Australia remains at the fourth position. Among other bowlers, Nuwan Tushara of Sri Lanka jumped 6 places and is in sixth place, while Pakistan's Sufia Mukim and Arbar Ahmed occupied the 11th and 16th positions, respectively.

Kuldeep Yadav at 23rd position

India's second bowler Kuldeep Yadav also performed brilliantly and jumped 16 places to reach the 23rd position in the ICC T20I bowlers rankings. This achievement of Varun has proved him to be the leading T20 spinner of India, while Kuldeep Yadav's jump also shows Team India's bowling depth.

Abhishek Sharma's Career-Best Rating

Indian opener Abhishek Sharma achieved the best career rating in the T20I Batters rankings. He received this reward after scoring 31 runs in the Asia Cup 2025 against Pakistan. Abhishek is ranked first in this ranking. Phil Salat and Jose Butler of England jumped second and third, respectively. Tilak Verma of India lost two places, while captain Surya kumar Yadav and Yashasvi also suffered a loss in ranking. Vice-captain Shubman Gill jumped four places and captured the 39th position. Dewald Bravis of South Africa rose two places to 11th and Aidan Markram jumped 10 places to capture the 30th position.

T20I all-rounders rankings

Hardik Pandya is ranked first in the ICC T20I all-rounders rankings. Sam Ayub of Pakistan jumped four places and jointly occupied the fifth position with Roston Chase. For India, Abhishek Sharma ran up four places to 14th and Akshar Patel is up one place to 12th position. The entire ranking shows the brilliant performance of Indian players and their growing grip on international T20 cricket.
