Bihar: Today is an important day in the politics of Bihar. Samrat Choudhary, who recently became the Chief Minister, will present the trust vote for his government in the Assembly. This is being considered as his first big political test after taking oath on April 15. The proceedings of the House will start at 11 am.
The proceedings will begin with the address of Assembly Speaker Prem Kumar. After this, the chief minister will propose a one-line proposal that the House expresses confidence in the present government. Then this proposal will be discussed and different parties will present their opinions.
Opposition leader Tejashwi Yadav will initiate the debate on the trust vote. After them, leaders of other parties will present their views. This debate is considered very important because it will clarify the strategy of both the parties.
Out of the total 243 seats in the Assembly, one seat is vacant, that is, only 242 members will participate in the voting. NDA has the support of about 201 MLAs, while the opposition has 41 members. In such a situation, it does not seem difficult for the government to prove its majority.
Given the numerical strength, it is unlikely that formal voting will be required. Generally, in such a situation the proposal is passed only by voice vote. It is believed that the government will easily get the trust vote.
Usually on such occasions a whip is issued to the MLAs to ensure their presence, but this time it did not happen. The reason is that more than 40 BJP MLAs are busy in West Bengal elections. However he has been recalled.
According to sources, NDA does not want to give much publicity or celebration to this entire incident. After the trust vote, the chief minister will address the House and may mention further plans.
The government's position is strong in terms of numbers, but what issues the opposition raises during the debate will also be monitored. Today will decide in what style the new government will start work.
