Delhi Voter List: 47.7 Lakh Electors Excluded From Draft Roll, Final List Due November 4

New Delhi: The draft voter list was released on Monday after Special Intensive Revision (SIR) in Delhi. Of the approximately 1.45 crore registered voters in the capital, names of 47.7 lakh have not been included in the draft roll. According to the election office, those whose names are not in the list can get it re-added by filing a claim till September 30. The final voter list will be released on November 4.

How many voters' names are in the draft list?

During SIR, forms were collected from door to door for verification of voters. Of these, forms of about 97.5 lakh voters were received and digitised. This is about 67.18 percent of the total 1,45,10,299 voters of Delhi. The remaining 47.7 lakh names have been kept in ASDDO i.e. Absent, Shifted, Dead, Duplicate and Other categories.

What to do if there is no name?

According to the Chief Electoral Officer of Delhi, eligible voters whose names are not in the draft roll can claim through Form 6. Along with this, necessary documents and declaration form will have to be submitted. The process of filing claims will run from August 31 to September 30. After this, the claims and objections will be examined and the process of issuing notices and their disposal will continue till October 29.

How to check name in voter list?

Voters can check their names in the draft roll by visiting the Voter Service website of the Election Commission. Those who submitted their form during SIR are also advised to check their name and details carefully. In case of any mistake or name missing, a claim can be made within the stipulated time limit.

For what reasons were 47.7 lakh names excluded?

According to election officials, voters whose forms were not received have been placed in the ASDDO category. This may include people who have not been found at their address, have moved to another place, have died or have duplications in their names. However, exclusion of the name from the draft does not mean that the name of the eligible voter cannot be added to the final list. The process of claim and objection has been kept for this.

In which area were most forms digitised?

There was a huge difference in the rate of digitisation of forms during SIR in 70 assembly seats of Delhi. In Rohini assembly constituency, 83.43 percent forms were digitised, which is the highest. Whereas in Tughlakabad this figure was 52.15 percent, which is the lowest in the capital.

When will the final voter list be released?

After the process of claims and objections is completed, the applications received will be scrutinised by the authorities. After this, the final voter list of Delhi will be published on 4 November 2026. Therefore, it is important for eligible voters whose names are not in the draft roll to file their claims by September 30.
