DPCC Rajiv Verma (Pankaj Rai)
New Delhi: The Delhi Congress has launched an organisational initiative to strengthen its presence among the Other Backward Classes (OBC) community across the national capital. Rajiv Verma, president of the Delhi Pradesh OBC Congress, has assigned assembly-level responsibilities to state office-bearers as part of efforts to improve the party’s grassroots network.
The appointments have been made under the guidance of Dr Anil Jaihind, national president of the All India Congress Committee (AICC) OBC Congress, and Devender Yadav, president of the Delhi Pradesh Congress Committee.
Under the new arrangement, state vice-presidents, general secretaries and secretaries have been entrusted with organisational responsibilities in different assembly constituencies. The move is intended to make the party’s activities more effective at the local level and improve coordination among its workers.
The leadership expects the initiative to increase organisational engagement in every assembly constituency and help the party establish stronger connections with residents.
A key objective is to raise issues concerning the rights of the OBC community and social justice more effectively. The party also aims to encourage greater participation among workers, strengthen coordination within the organisation and expand its outreach to the public.
Through the assembly-level assignments, the Delhi OBC Congress hopes to make its organisational structure more active and responsive to community concerns.
Congratulating the newly appointed assembly in-charges, Rajiv Verma urged them to carry out their responsibilities with sincerity, commitment and hard work. He emphasised the need to take the Congress ideology to people across Delhi and raise awareness among members of the OBC community about their rights.
The initiative marks an effort by the Delhi OBC Congress to strengthen its organisational presence and improve its engagement with communities at the constituency level.
