Delhi Police Cancels Leave Of All Personnel Amid Ongoing CJP Protest

New Delhi: Amid the ongoing protest led by the Cockroach Janta Party (CJP) over the NEET paper leak and the resignation of Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan, the Delhi Police has issued an urgent directive cancelling the leave of all personnel across all ranks until further notice, effective immediately. According to the order, leave will only be granted in emergency situations.

What did the Delhi Police say?

The Delhi police has cancelled the leave of all police personnel ranks until further order. The CJP-led student protest against the NEET exam leak have been ongoing in Delhi for the past 35 days. Since Monday, the protest has escalated into violence several times, with clashes between protestors and police. 

According to the new order, police personnel will only be granted leave in case of emergency. The leave of those policemen who are already on leave during this period has been cancelled with immediate effect, and they have been called on duty.

Police officials said that, the step has been taken to maintain law and order, manange heavy security deployments across central Delhi.

Will the movement still continue?

Cockroach Janata Party founder Abhijeet Dipke clarified that Activist Sonam Wangchuk ending his fast does not mean the end of the movement. He said that CJP's ongoing peaceful protest at Jantar Mantar will continue until accountability is fixed in the NEET-UG 2026 paper leak case and Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan resigns from his post.

Why did Sonam Wangchuk end his fast?

Sonam Wangchuk ended his fast late on Thursday night at Gurugram's Medanta Hospital in the presence of Union Minister JP Nadda, Jitendra Singh and leaders of the Leh-Ladakh apex body. He said that this decision was taken after several rounds of talks with the government. Also, in view of the possibility of tension in the country, he appealed to everyone to maintain a peaceful environment.
