New Delhi: East Delhi Police held a public grievance redressal drive to address residents’ concerns promptly, strengthen police-public relations and ensure timely action on complaints. The initiative was conducted under the supervision of Deputy Commissioner of Police (East District) Rajiv Kumar Rawal, with Additional DCP Srishti Pandey leading the exercise across police stations in the district.

During the campaign, police officials listened to complainants and took steps to resolve their concerns. A total of 187 complaints were heard, of which 154 were resolved on the spot. The remaining 33 cases were referred to the concerned officers, who were directed to take immediate action and ensure their early resolution.

What Were the Main Complaints Raised by Residents?

The grievances primarily involved family disputes, marital disagreements, parking-related problems and minor local conflicts. Police personnel heard the concerns of the parties involved and initiated resolution procedures in accordance with the applicable rules.

The campaign aimed not only to provide a platform for citizens to approach senior police officials directly but also to deliver timely relief and prevent local disputes from escalating.

Immediate Action Directed in Women’s Safety Cases

Police also emphasised women’s safety during the grievance redressal exercise. In complaints involving stalking and objectionable content circulated online, officials directed the concerned personnel to take necessary immediate action and register FIRs wherever required under the law.

Focus on Accountability and Public Trust

The East District Police initiative highlighted the department’s focus on making grievance redressal more accessible and responsive. By addressing complaints directly and assigning pending matters to the relevant officers, the police sought to improve accountability and reinforce public confidence in law enforcement.

Officials have stressed the importance of prompt action and effective resolution to ensure that citizens’ concerns receive appropriate attention.
