‘We Care’ Initiative: Delhi Police Raises Safety Awareness In Vasant Kunj, Women Learn Self-Defence

New Delhi: Delhi Police organised a community awareness programme at Vasant Udyan District Park in Vasant Kunj under its ‘We Care’ initiative, aimed at strengthening public-police interaction and spreading awareness about safety issues. Women and children from the area participated actively in the programme.

The event was attended by police officials, including the Assistant Commissioner of Police, Vasant Vihar. Officers interacted with local residents, listened to their concerns and provided guidance on various safety-related issues.

Women Learn Basic Self-Defence Techniques

DCP PMMC Neha Yadav said the Delhi Police Band also gave a special performance during the programme. This was followed by a dedicated session on women’s safety and self-defence.

The police team demonstrated basic self-defence techniques and explained how women can remain alert, respond confidently during emergencies and take steps to protect themselves.

Children and Residents Get Cyber Safety Tips

A cyber safety awareness session was another key highlight of the programme. The Cyber Police Station team explained common forms of online fraud, including fake messages, suspicious links and digital scams. Residents were advised not to share confidential information with unknown persons and to immediately seek police assistance if they notice any suspicious online activity.

Delhi Police Services Showcased

A public relations van was also deployed at the venue as part of the awareness campaign. Informative videos highlighting various Delhi Police services and initiatives were shown to visitors.

At the end of the programme, police officials interacted directly with women and children, addressed their questions and concerns and explained the available police assistance and safety measures.
