New Delhi: With the aim of gaining a closer understanding of the country's historical heritage and strengthening the spirit of national unity, the Northeast Cell of PGDAV College, University of Delhi, organised an educational visit to Rashtrapati Bhavan. During the visit, students gained firsthand insight into Indian culture, history, architecture, and the nation's rich heritage. The trip was not only intellectually enriching but also emotionally memorable for them.

The visit was inaugurated by the college Principal, Professor Darvinder Kumar; his inspiring words boosted the students' enthusiasm. His continuous support has been instrumental in fostering an inclusive, collaborative, and welcoming environment within the college for students from the Northeast.

For many students hailing from the hilly regions of North-East India, this was their first visit to Rashtrapati Bhavan. Seeing glimpses of their home states in the museum evoked a sense of belonging and national pride. The students viewed the Persian mural in the Ashoka Mandap depicting a hunting scene by Fath-Ali Shah, along with exquisitely embroidered textiles, historical artifacts, and diplomatic gifts received from various nations. These heritage pieces provided them with valuable insights into India's cultural richness and global relations. Additionally, they learned about the architectural vision of the renowned architect Edwin Lutyens and the evolution of Lutyens' Delhi.

Dr. Anubhuti Mishra, Convener of the North-East Cell, stated that the visit strengthened the students' sense of national pride and inspired them to contribute meaningfully to the nation's development. Faculty members Dr. Anindita Golder, Dr. Reshma Tabassum, and Ms. Anjali Tomar also accompanied the students on this occasion.

Vinika K. Chishi, the Cell's President from Nagaland, described the experience as life-enriching. Meanwhile, Lucky Warepam, the General Secretary from Manipur, expressed eagerness to share these memorable moments with the people of his hometown. This educational initiative conveys the message that India's diverse cultures are its greatest strength and that a shared heritage lends new strength to the country's unity.
