'Voice Of Hind' Plot Exposed; Four ISIS Operatives Sentenced

New Delhi: The National Investigation Agency (NIA) has achieved a major success in its crackdown on a terror conspiracy. A special NIA court, located within the Rouse Avenue District Court complex in Delhi, has sentenced four convicts to rigorous imprisonment in the 'Voice of Hind' terror conspiracy case linked to the banned terrorist organisation ISIS.

The court sentenced Umar Nisar (alias Qasim Khorasani), Rameez Ahmad Lone, and Tanveer Ahmad Bhat to six years of rigorous imprisonment each, while Afshan Parvez Zarabi was sentenced to five years of rigorous imprisonment. Fines of ₹36,000, ₹31,000, ₹23,000, and ₹9,000 were also imposed on the four individuals, respectively. The court directed that all sentences run concurrently.

According to the NIA, charges were proven against the accused for propagating ISIS ideology, radicalising youth, and attempting to recruit them into the organisation. The investigation revealed an active network spreading terrorist ideology through an India-centric online magazine titled 'Sawt-ul-Hind' (Voice of Hind).

The investigating agency recovered a large quantity of digital and incriminating material, including terror propaganda, posters, literature, online links, chats, audio recordings, flags, and other digital documents.

The NIA has filed a charge sheet and four supplementary charge sheets against a total of eight accused. While four convicts have been sentenced, the trial against the remaining accused is ongoing.
