Eid Under Tight Watch in Delhi (X/ANI)
New Delhi: This time the police are in no mood to take any risk regarding security in the capital regarding Eid-ul-Fitr. Keeping in mind the recent developments and the situation in sensitive areas, strict arrangements have been made across the city. More than 15 thousand policemen will be deployed in different areas. Special surveillance will be maintained at crowded places so that the festival can be conducted peacefully.
Police officials say that this time along with traditional arrangements, the help of technology is also being taken. The plan has been prepared through meetings at the local level in every district, in which mosque committees and local representatives were also included. The aim is that there should not be any chaos during Namaz and the situation should remain completely under control.
This time, surveillance will be maintained from above through drone cameras, while the CCTV network will be more active than before. The special thing is that through AI based system, efforts will be made to understand the crowd pattern and identify suspicious activities. The feed will be continuously monitored from the control room so that immediate action can be taken if needed.
As always, the areas of Old Delhi are in focus. Additional forces have been deployed around Jama Masjid, Fatehpuri and Turkman Gate. Apart from this, the presence of police and paramilitary forces has also been increased in areas like Seemapuri, Jaffrabad, Seelampur, Mustafabad, Shaheen Bagh and Jamia Nagar.
Diversion will be implemented on many major roads during the time of Namaz. The police have already decided on alternative routes so that the common people do not face much trouble. Barricading will be done in crowded areas and routes will be controlled as per need.
Police have clearly said that strict action will be taken against those spreading wrong or inflammatory information on social media. People have been asked not to share any unconfirmed news. According to officials, a case will be immediately registered against those trying to spoil the atmosphere.
In view of the situation, CRPF and CISF personnel have also been deployed on duty. Policemen in plain clothes will be present in the crowd, while intelligence agencies are continuously gathering inputs. Senior officials themselves are entering the field and taking stock of the arrangements so that no mistakes are made during the festival.
