Bhagwat Katha Helps One Overcome Worldly Struggles: Acharya Ram Sevak Shastri (Rimpi Jindal)
Haryana: To free the soul from the cycle of birth and death, one must follow the path of devotion and engage in righteous deeds. Performing havan and yajna purifies the environment and atmosphere while also awakening spiritual strength and religious faith within an individual. Havan and yajna please the deities, who bless devotees with their desired wishes.
Listening to the Shrimad Bhagwat Katha helps a person cross the ocean of worldly existence, and sins are transformed into virtues. The word prasad consists of three letters: ‘Pra’ means God, ‘Sa’ means direct or actual, and ‘Da’ means darshan (divine vision). Therefore, prasad is not merely an offering but a direct blessing and vision of God. The human body itself is considered the best prasad given by God. Disrespecting prasad in life is equivalent to disrespecting God. The food offered to God becomes prasad when the remaining portion is distributed among devotees.
These remarks were made by renowned storyteller Acharya Shri Ram Sevak Shastri of Kalwanu on the concluding day of the seven-day Shrimad Bhagwat Katha and Gyan Yajna, organised by the Shri Krishna Gaushala Committee during Pitru Paksha for the service of cows. The programme was held at the premises of the Shri Radha Krishna Temple located at Shri Krishna Gaushala under the divine blessings of Sant Baba Babu Ram Ji of Dugal and Sant Baba Karam Chand Ji of Bachhuana.
On the final day of the seven-day religious programme, Tuesday, members of the Gaushala Committee, representatives of various religious and social organisations, and a large number of devotees jointly performed a havan-yajna from 8 am to 10 am. During the ceremony, temple priests Pawan Kaushik and Dheeraj Bhardwaj jointly urged devotees to follow the ideals of Lord Krishna in their lives.
After the havan-yajna, the Bhagwat Katha was held from 10 am to 12 noon, followed by an Atoot Bhandara (community feast). The presence of Shri Narayan Muni Ji Maharaj during the Katha spiritually blessed the gathering.
At the conclusion of the Katha, Ratia BJP SC Finance Commission Chairman Sardar Baldev Singh Groha, accompanied by BJP leader and prominent social worker Pramod Bansal, arrived at the venue and paid their respects at the Vyas Peeth.
The programme was conducted by Dharmendra Goswami. At the end, the committee expressed its gratitude to all those who attended and honoured Acharya Shri Ram Sevak Shastri of Kalwanu and other chief guests by presenting them with traditional scarves and mementoes.
