Ratia: Sub-Divisional Magistrate (SDM) Surendra Singh visited grain markets in Nagpur, Alika and Mahmadki villages on Friday to assess paddy procurement operations and review arrangements for farmers. During the inspection, he examined facilities for farmers, the crop purchasing process, gate pass arrangements and the timely lifting of procured paddy.
During his visit, Singh sought updates from the concerned officials regarding paddy arrivals, procurement progress and the status of lifting purchased crops from the markets. He instructed them to ensure that farmers do not encounter difficulties while bringing their produce for sale and that procurement operations continue smoothly in accordance with established rules.
The SDM stressed that all arrangements should be maintained efficiently to prevent delays and ensure a hassle-free experience for farmers.
Singh emphasised that farmers' convenience must remain a priority throughout the procurement process. He directed officials to ensure that paddy purchased from farmers is lifted promptly so that stocks do not accumulate unnecessarily in the grain markets.
He also called for proper cleanliness, adequate basic facilities for farmers and efficient management of all procurement-related activities. Officials were instructed to maintain transparency in purchasing operations and address farmers' grievances promptly, giving priority to resolving their concerns.
The inspection aimed to ensure that the three grain markets remain adequately equipped to handle paddy arrivals and procurement activities. Timely crop lifting, effective coordination among officials and the availability of essential facilities were highlighted as key requirements for smooth market operations.
The SDM directed the concerned departments to remain attentive to farmers' needs and ensure that procurement arrangements function efficiently throughout the season.
