Mysuru: A shocking incident has come to light from the Mysuru district of Karnataka, where three members of the same family committed suicide just a day before a wedding. The deceased include the bride-to-be. The incident has sent shockwaves through the entire area. The deceased have been identified as 50-year-old Shivanna, his 45-year-old wife Nagarathna, and their 21-year-old daughter Rakshitha. According to the police, the incident occurred in Halekempayyanahundi village in T. Narasipura Taluk. Preliminary investigations reveal that the three ended their lives by consuming poison at their home.
According to reports, Rakshitha’s wedding was scheduled for the very next day, and the family was busy with preparations. Everyone is stunned that such a tragic step was taken amidst these plans. It is reported that the family had been under severe mental stress for the past few days leading up to the wedding. Police investigation revealed that a man from the same village, identified as Ullas Gowda, was allegedly harassing the family. It is alleged that Ullas Gowda wanted to marry Rakshitha; when her marriage was fixed with someone else, he began spreading malicious rumors about her.
Furthermore, according to the police, he attempted to break off the engagement by sending messages and photographs to Rakshitha's fiancé. It is believed that this caused the mental pressure on the family to mount. A suicide note was also recovered from the scene, holding Ullas Gowda responsible for the deaths. The police have seized the note, registered a case, and initiated an investigation. They are thoroughly examining digital evidence, the suicide note, and the circumstances surrounding the incident.
