Five killed, seven injured after SUV collides with tractor in Madhya Pradesh’s Narmadapuram (X)
Bhopal: Five people were killed and seven others were injured in a tragic accident in the Narmadapuram district of Madhya Pradesh. A SUV collided with a tractor-trolley on the intervening night of Sunday and Monday, according to police.
According to reports, the accident occurred at around 1:30 am, when a wedding procession in the SUV was returning from Mana village in Budhni tehsil of Sehore district and collided head-on with a tractor-trolley carrying soybeans.
Five people travelling in the SUV died on the spot in the accident. All the deceased were residents of Mahendrawadi in the Makhannagar area. According to police, the deceased have been identified as Sahil Yadav (19), Hari Singh Yadav (57), Vineet Yadav (22), Shubham Morappa (18), and Santosh Prajapati.
Those injured in the accident have been admitted to a nearby hospital. According to doctors, the condition of some of the injured remains critical. The administration is arranging for better treatment.
In the initial investigation, the cause of the accident is considered to be low visibility, night time conditions, or negligence of the driver, however the actual reason will be clear only after the completion of the investigation.
After this accident, there is an atmosphere of mourning in the entire area. The district hospital was crowded with the relatives of the deceased and the villagers throughout the night. The happiness of the wedding turned into deep sorrow in a few moments, which has shocked everyone.
Upon receiving information about the accident, Makhan Nagar police arrived at the scene and have sent all the bodies for post-mortem examination.
Police are investigating the matter and trying to determine the cause of the accident.
