Chhatarpur: Villagers attacked a police team that had arrived to resolve a minor dispute in the Chhatarpur district of Madhya Pradesh. Two police personnel were injured in the incident, and the police's 'Dial-100' vehicle was damaged. According to reports, the incident occurred in Chhapra village under the Chandla police station area.
Police had received information about a dispute between two groups in the village. Upon receiving the information, a 'Dial-100' team—comprising a driver and two constables—arrived at the scene. It is reported that the police personnel were attempting to reason with both parties and calm the situation. Suddenly, some individuals became aggressive and attacked the 'Dial-100' vehicle with sticks and clubs, damaging the vehicle's windows and other parts.
Two constables were injured during the incident and were sent to a nearby health center for first aid. Police officials stated that the injured personnel are out of danger. Upon receiving news of the incident, the Chandla police and additional forces arrived at the scene and brought the situation under control. A case has been registered; according to officials, the accused face charges of obstructing official duty, damaging government property, assault, and attempting to kill police personnel.
Police have charged two men under sections related to attempted murder, while a case has been registered against a woman under other sections. A police team has been formed to search for the accused.
Aditya Patle stated that a case has been registered regarding the attack on the police team, assault, abusive behavior, and obstruction of official duty. He emphasized that strict action would be taken against those who take the law into their own hands. Police officials have appealed to citizens not to take the law into their own hands during disputes and to cooperate with police investigations.
