New Delhi. The investigation into the shooting incident involving Bollywood actor Tiger Shroff’s car has expanded from Delhi to Haryana and Mumbai. On October 20, the NDR team of the Delhi Police Special Cell apprehended four suspects—two men and two women. Subsequently, a team from the Criminal Investigation Department (CID) of the Maharashtra Police, with court authorization, formally arrested the four individuals and secured a three-day transit remand for interrogation. Preliminary police findings and the sequence of events suggest that the investigation is focusing on several key aspects: the procurement of weapons, the use of women to transport them to Mumbai, and the arrangements allegedly made to facilitate the escape of the attackers following the shooting.

Weapons from Punjab, encrypted communication, and the journey to Mumbai

According to the Special Cell, Kunal—a resident of Sonipat district in Haryana—was introduced to Anil Pandit through a mutual acquaintance. Kunal had recently been released from jail on bail. Following this, he maintained contact with Anil Pandit via a mobile application that uses encrypted messaging. The investigation reveals that, acting on Anil Pandit’s instructions, Kunal—accompanied by an individual named Sumit—procured a pistol and 20 cartridges from Amritsar. The police are currently examining the links surrounding the supply of the weapon, its subsequent use, and the roles played by other individuals involved in the case.

Exploiting a personal connection, and the alleged task of traveling to Mumbai

According to the police, Kunal met a woman named Radha about two months ago. It is alleged that Kunal disclosed his activities to her and persuaded her to transport the weapon to Mumbai. The role of another woman, Babita, is also under investigation. On October 15, Kunal brought Radha and Babita to the New Delhi Railway Station. Police state that the pistol was concealed inside Radha’s bag. During the journey, Kunal remained in contact via an encrypted messaging application, relaying instructions from Anil Pandit. On October 17, the two women arrived at Dadar in Mumbai and checked into a hotel. According to a press release, a minor boy collected a bag from Radha near the hotel around 11:00 AM that same day. Investigative agencies are now examining the boy's role, the delivery of the weapon, and his potential connection to the alleged shooting.

The shooting on the evening of October 18, followed by alleged plans to extract the suspects

The case reached a critical juncture on the evening of October 18, around 7:00 PM, when shots were fired at Tiger Shroff’s car. According to a press release from the Special Cell, Anil Pandit subsequently contacted Kunal, informing him that the individuals who carried out the shooting were stranded in Mumbai and instructing him to arrange for their extraction. Meanwhile, on October 18, Radha and Babita departed from Dadar for Delhi aboard the Haridwar Express. On October 20, the Delhi Police Special Cell apprehended both women at the New Delhi Railway Station, while Kunal and Sumit were arrested in Sonipat, Haryana.

Investigative agencies are now tasked with determining for whom the weapon was intended, the nature of the relationship between those involved in the shooting and the arrested suspects, and the extent to which a plan for their escape from Mumbai had been orchestrated following the incident.

Action by the Maharashtra CID following the court appearance

The four suspects were presented before the court by the NDR team of the Delhi Police Special Cell, following the filing of a *kalandra* (a formal police report/record) under Section 35(1)(b) of the Bharatiya Nagarik Suraksha Sanhita (BNSS). Subsequently, officials from the Maharashtra Police CID (Mumbai) requested the court’s permission to interrogate the suspects while in custody and to place them under formal arrest. The court granted the application, following which the Mumbai Police team formally arrested all four individuals. Subsequently, a three-day transit remand was sought to take the accused to Mumbai for further investigation, a request that was granted by the court.

Identification of the four accused

According to the police, the arrested individuals include: 21-year-old Kunal, a resident of Rohna village under the Kharkhoda police station area in Haryana’s Sonipat district; 19-year-old Sumit, a resident of Ward No. 10 on Matindu Road in the Kharkhoda area; 23-year-old Radha, a resident of Nahwaiya under the Mishrikh police station area in Uttar Pradesh’s Sitapur district; and 23-year-old Babita, a resident of Kothiyar in Azamgarh district. The investigation is currently ongoing, focusing on the alleged roles of the four individuals, the supply of weapons, the shooting incident in Mumbai, and the possible involvement of other associates. While several significant leads have emerged based on the sequence of events as outlined by the police, the precise role of each accused and the extent of their involvement in the crime will only be definitively established following the completion of the investigation and the subsequent judicial process.
