Music Deal Turns Ugly: FIR Filed Against Dilpreet Dhillon Over Assault And Pistol Threat Claims

Mohali: An FIR has been registered against Punjabi singer Dilpreet Singh Dhillon under various sections of the Indian Judicial Code (BNS) and Arms Act at Mataur police station in Mohali. This action was taken on the complaint of Reshmant Marwaha, director of Melody House Music Company. In the complaint, serious allegations have been made like assault, forcibly restraining, threatening with weapons and threatening to kill. Police say that the case has been registered on the basis of the statement of the complainant and the investigation is ongoing. Till now there has been no official response from Dilpreet Dhillon on these allegations.

How did the controversy start with the T-Series deal?

According to the FIR, Reshmant Marwaha has been running a music company named Melody House for the last five years. The complaint claims that a few months ago, Dilpreet Dhillon had approached him about recording songs with T-Series. He also held talks with the company officials, but due to some reason the deal could not be completed. The complainant alleges that resentment arose between the two regarding this issue and later the dispute escalated.

What happened in the flat on the night of 22nd July?

According to the complainant, on the night of July 22, he was present at his friend Gurpreet Singh's flat in Sector-70. It is alleged that during this time Dilpreet Dhillon reached there and during the conversation the atmosphere suddenly became tense. The FIR states that during the conversation, Dhillon allegedly said that he wanted a deal with a big music company at any cost as he had to buy an expensive car for his wife. The complainant says that when he expressed his inability, the dispute turned into a scuffle.

What allegations have been made of assault and pistol display?

According to the allegations recorded in the FIR, when the complainant started leaving from there, he was grabbed by his collar and taken to another room. It is alleged that he was thrown on the ground and kicked on the stomach, ribs and other parts of the body. The complaint also states that after this the accused allegedly took out a pistol and threatened to kill him and his family. After the noise, the accused left from there. The injured complainant later contacted the police after undergoing treatment at the hospital.

Under which sections has the police registered the case?

On the basis of the complaint, Mataur Police Station has registered a case under sections 115(2), 126(2), 351(2) of BNS and sections 25 and 27 of the Arms Act. According to investigating officer ASI Kewal Kumar, at present a case has been registered on the basis of the complainant's statement and available facts. The police is now engaged in the process of collecting other evidence related to the case, investigating the incident site and recording statements of the people concerned. Dilpreet Dhillon can also be included for questioning during the investigation.

Only after the police investigation will it be clear to what extent the allegations made in the complaint are proved by the facts and evidence. At present this case is in the investigation stage and all the allegations recorded in the FIR are based on the statement of the complainant.
