80-Year-Old Woman Allegedly Raped By Neighbour In Hathras, Accused Arrested

Hathras: A shocking incident from Uttar Pradesh's Hathras. An 80-year-old woman was allegedly raped by her 28 year old neighbour at her own home on Monday morning. The accused has been taken into custody.

What happened?

This incident took place at around 9 am. The accused, who lives nearby, took advantage of the situation and forcibly entered her room. When he entered, the elderly woman was alone in her house. He allegedly raped her and fled away. When locals heard her cries, they rushed to the spot, according to a resident said.

When police reached?

After getting the information, a police team had immediately reached the spot. The woman was found bleeding. She was rushed to the district hospital for treatment. Sadar Circle Officer Himanshu Mathur said the woman has been sent for a medical examination for now.

What happens next?

The CO said, "The accused has been taken into custody. Further the legal action will be taken based on the medical report and the formal complaint filed by the family." Police have said that a full investigation is underway.
