Electric Bike Catches Fire in Noida's Mamura Village, 50 Families Affected (X)
Noida: At least two people died and several others were injured after a massive fire broke out in Mamura village, under the Phase 3 police station area of Noida, due to sparking in an electric bike. According to reports, the fire quickly spread to nearby houses, trapping around 50 families. Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath took cognizance of the incident and issued instructions to the officials.
A major fire on Wednesday has broken out in Mamura village of Noida, reportedly caused by sparking in an electric bike.
It is reported that the fire started due to sparking while charging an electric bike/scooter. The fire quickly spread to the multi-story building (PG Building). Around 50 families were trapped in the blaze.
According to PTI news agency, two people have died after a fire, which is suspected to have been triggered by a spark from an electric vehicle (EV) battery being charged, broke out in a four-storey residential building in Noida.

Fire brigade and police teams launched a massive rescue operation, evacuating many people. The fire is believed to have started from the battery of an electric vehicle.

The police and fire department are investigating the cause of the fire.
Rajeev Narain, Joint Commissioner, Gautam Buddha Nagar, said that, "Information was received about a fire in Mamura village, which falls under Sector 66 and the Phase-3 police station limits. The Fire Services responded immediately and reached the spot in the shortest possible time. Hydraulic platforms, rescue vehicles, and seven fire tenders were deployed to carry out the firefighting and rescue operations."

"The building where the fire broke out is a G+4 structure housing around 50 families. All the residents were safely evacuated. However, two people experienced health complications due to smoke inhalation. The building had parking on the ground floor, not a basement. Smoke from the parking area travelled upwards, affecting the occupants. The two individuals whose condition deteriorated due to the fumes were immediately shifted by ambulance to the district hospital. We will provide updates on their condition. They have already been taken to the hospital. Each floor accommodates about five families, with around 12 rooms configured as two-room flats. Rescue operations were conducted continuously to evacuate all the occupants safely," he added.

Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath took cognizance of the fire incident in Noida and has issued instructions to officials. He ordered officials to immediately reach the scene, expedite relief and rescue operations, and provide proper treatment to the injured. The administration was instructed to maintain vigilance at all levels. The Chief Minister also directed continuous monitoring of relief operations and to ensure proper treatment of the injured.
