MBBS Student Found Dead In Muzaffarnagar Medical College Hostel, Police Investigate

Muzaffarnagar, October 19: A 24-year-old MBBS student was found dead in her hostel room at Muzaffarnagar Medical College in Begrajpur, under the Mansurpur police station area of Muzaffarnagar, Uttar Pradesh, on Sunday night.

The deceased, identified as Shagun Saini, was a fourth-year MBBS student and a resident of Kaithal, Haryana. Her death caused concern across the college campus.

According to preliminary information, the incident came to light at around 9 pm on October 19. When Shagun's roommate, Ziya, returned to the room, she found the door locked from the inside. After repeated attempts to open it failed, she looked through a window and saw Shagun hanging inside the room. She immediately informed the police.

Police personnel reached the hostel and broke open the door to enter the room. The body was taken out, and the necessary inquest proceedings were completed before it was sent for post-mortem examination.

Forensic Team Examines the Scene

A field unit and forensic team were called to inspect the scene and collect necessary evidence. Senior police officials also visited the location to review the situation and gather information about the incident.

Police are investigating the case from all possible angles. The death is being treated as a suspected suicide at the preliminary stage, but the circumstances and possible reasons behind it have not yet been established.

Investigation Underway

The police have informed Shagun's family about her death. Further legal action will be taken based on the post-mortem report and findings of the investigation.
