Lucknow/Noida. When the workers' protest in Noida Phase-2 turned violent, Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath spoke directly and said that it is not just a matter of salaries. He said that there are some indications which show that such movements can be used to spoil the atmosphere. The authorities have been alerted.

Does the government see the possibility of a conspiracy in these protests?

Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath clearly stated that Naxalism is nearly extinct, but there are opportunities to revive it. Elements unrelated to the workers' demands may have joined the recent protests.

What instructions did the chief minister give to the officials? 

The chief minister also directed the officials to identify those elements who are trying to instigate the atmosphere in the name of workers and take strict action against them. It has been asked to increase surveillance in industrial areas and keep the intelligence system active so that any provocation or disturbance can be stopped in time.

Did the workers' protest suddenly turn violent?

The protest that started with the demand for salary hike went out of control at some places in Noida. Stone pelting and vandalism took place at many places, a vehicle was set on fire. What began as a demand quickly escalated into a law and order issue.
