Premanand Maharaj’s Disciple Deepak Dies In Vrindavan, Suicide Or Something Else? Police Probe Underway

Vrindavan: A case of death under suspicious circumstances of a young disciple associated with Sant Premanand Maharaj has come to light in Varahghat area of ​​Vrindavan. Deepak, 25, a resident of Jabalpur, who had joined the ashram named Rasik Dulari Sharan after taking initiation, fell from the four-storey building of Guru Kripa Kunj on Friday morning. He was taken to the hospital in critical condition, where he died during treatment.

After the incident, police reached the spot and started investigation. Serious injury marks were found on the body of the deceased and a grinder stained with blood was also found in his room. The police are currently trying to understand the circumstances of the incident on the basis of postmortem report, forensic evidence and CCTV footage. 

How did the young man fall from the fourth floor?

The incident is being reported around 10.30 am on Friday morning. Rasik Dulari had gone to the upper floor of Sharan Guru Kripa Kunj and after some time was found fallen down. Police have started scanning the recordings of CCTV cameras installed nearby. In some reports, based on the footage, it has been said that he jumped from himself, while the police are still trying to clarify whether the incident was suicide or there was some other reason behind it. According to CO Vrindavan Sandeep Singh, prima facie there is evidence of suicide, but other aspects have also been included in the investigation. 

Why did the grinder found in the room raise questions?

The grinder found in the room of the deceased has become an important part of the investigation in the case. According to the report, a blood stained grinder was recovered from the room. Police are trying to find out whether it was used before the incident or it is related to some other circumstance. Some reports also say that the connection between the injuries on the body of the deceased and the grinder is being investigated. The final conclusion in this regard will come only after post-mortem and forensic investigation.

What evidence did the police collect?

After getting information about the incident, police and forensic team reached the spot. Along with the investigation of the incident, information about the diary and mobile phone of the deceased has also come to light. Police are collecting information from them about the circumstances before the incident. Recordings of CCTV cameras installed in the ashram and surrounding areas are also being viewed. Police say that all the facts emerging during the investigation will be taken into consideration. The body has been sent for post-mortem. 

Who was Deepak and since when was he associated with the Ashram?

The deceased was originally a resident of Jabalpur in Madhya Pradesh. According to the family, Deepak was interested in religious activities. He had also circumambulated the Narmada before coming to Vrindavan. About one to two years ago, he came to Vrindavan and after taking initiation from Sant Premanand Maharaj, he was named Rasik Dulari Sharan. He was living in the Guru Kripa Kunj complex near Varahghat, where other disciples associated with Premanand Maharaj also live. There is difference in different reports regarding the period of his association with the ashram, hence its official confirmation will be possible only through investigation. 

How did the family get information about the incident?

The police informed the family of the deceased about the incident. According to family members, they were initially informed about Deepak's ill health. His mother had come to Vrindavan last year and stayed here for a few days. The family told that Deepak was of religious nature and after coming to Vrindavan, he was spending most of his time in activities related to spiritual practice. The police are now including the statements of the family and other available evidence in the investigation. 

What is the biggest question before the police?

At present the most important question in the investigation is that under what circumstances Deepak died. Police are prima facie looking at the possibility of suicide, but the injuries found on the body, material recovered from the room, CCTV footage and forensic evidence are being investigated separately. The postmortem report will also help in understanding the circumstances of death. Police officials say that the situation regarding the incident will be clear only after the investigation is completed and the available evidence is analysed.
