'That Land was Babri Masjid, is Babri Masjid...': Controversial Claim by Maulana Jarjis Ansari Sparks Outrage (X)
Etawah: Maulana Jarjis Ansari has once again made controversial remarks, saying that the land in Ayodhya where the Ram Temple now stands "was Babri Masjid, is Babri Masjid, and will remain Babri Masjid."
Maulana Jarjis Ansari made these remarks in Uttar Pradesh's Etawah, saying "Just because something is forcibly taken doesn’t mean it belongs to you."
He said that "Hum wahan Babri Masjid phele bhi mante the, aaj bhi mante hai and kayamat tak mante rahenge."
Maulana Jarjis Ansari also claimed that "There was Babri Masjid, is Babri Masjid, and will remain Babri Masjid."
Jarjis Ansari is a cleric from Etawah known for outspoken remarks on religious issues. He has a following among some Muslim communities but has also drawn criticism for past controversial comments on social topics.
He suggested that Muslims in Uttar Pradesh might consider moving to West Bengal, saying his “heart no longer wished to stay” in the state.
Religious leaders in Ayodhya condemned the statement as provocative. Several Hindu saints and local community figures called it “unhelpful” and urged authorities to take action, saying it could stir tensions in an already charged environment.
