According to the police, a large number of people had visited Vrindavan as tourists. Approximately 30 individuals boarded a steamer to view the Yamuna River. All the devotees were admiring the river from the vessel when, upon reaching the C Ghat area, the steamer collided with a pontoon bridge. The moment the collision occurred, all the devotees on board were thrown into the Yamuna River and began screaming in distress.
