Ayodhya: Uttar Pradesh CM Yogi Adityanath has reacted openly for the first time amid the controversy over the alleged fund embezzlement case related to the construction of Ram Temple. During his visit to Ayodhya on Friday, he said in clear words that the matter is being investigated and whoever is found guilty, action will be taken against him as per law. The chief minister said that no accused would get relief merely on the basis of his position, influence or identity. He also appealed to the people to avoid rumors and be patient till the investigation is completed.

What did the chief minister say about the investigation?

Yogi Adityanath said that a Special Investigation Team (SIT) has been formed to investigate the entire matter and this team is investigating all aspects. According to him, the investigating agencies have been allowed to work independently so that there is no scope for any kind of doubt. The chief minister said that if any person has documents, transaction records or other evidence related to the case, then they should be presented before the investigation team.

Why did the temple trust demand a SIT investigation?

The chief minister said that the process of investigation started after the initiative of the temple trust. The Trust wanted that the doubts spreading regarding the dispute should be resolved on the basis of facts and the entire matter should be investigated impartially. After this a special investigation team was formed. The government believes that it would be appropriate to reach any conclusion only after the investigation report comes out.

Why were Ram devotees appealed to exercise restraint?

During his address in Ayodhya, Yogi Adityanath said that the life of Lord Ram gives the message of dignity, patience and integrity. He appealed to the devotees not to believe in any unconfirmed information or rumors spreading on social media. The chief minister said that some people may try to harm the image of Ayodhya and Ram Temple, hence responsible behavior is necessary.

What was the reason behind targeting the opposition?

The chief minister also mentioned Samajwadi Party and Congress in his speech. He alleged that these parties had not supported the Ram temple movement in the past and had adopted a harsh attitude towards Ram devotees. Yogi said that today the same political parties are raising questions on the issues related to the temple. However, there was no immediate reaction from the opposition parties to the Chief Minister's allegations.

Why are eyes fixed on the direction of investigation now?

Investigative agencies are busy examining documents and financial records regarding the donation controversy. Only after the SIT report comes, it will be clear how much truth there is in the allegations. After the Chief Minister's statement, it has become clear that considering this matter sensitive, the government is in favor of getting every aspect investigated and is in no mood to step back from taking action against the culprits.
