Zubeen Garg Death: 4 Accused Charged With Murder in SIT Chargesheet

Guwahati: In a major development in the Zubeen Garg's death case, a Special Investigation Team (SIT), probing into the death of singer, on Friday charged four accused with murder in its chargesheet filed in a Guwahati court, as the report of PTI.

Notably, the accused in the case are Shyamkanu Mahanta, Siddhartha Sharma, Shekhar Jyoti Goswami and Amritprava Mahanta, according to the lawyers. 

It is to be noted here that after the Special Investigation Team (SIT) filed the chargesheet in the death of singer at the Chief Judicial Magistrate’s Court in Guwahati. In the case, SIT chief Munna Prasad Gupta highlighted the important sections invoked against the accused individuals.

In his statement, Gupta said, “If you see the sections, murder has been invoked against Siddarth Sarma, Syamkanu Mahanta, Shekhar Jyoti Goswami and Amritprabha Mahanta, along with other charges. We have filed the chargesheet in court; it is not possible to disclose everything here.” 

He further added, “Whatever evidence we found in Singapore, we have submitted to the court.”

It is to be noted here that Zubeen Garg passed away on September 19 in Singapore.
