instagram battery drain (Social media)

Tech News: Imagine you are sitting comfortably, sipping tea, and lost in the world of Instagram reels on your mobile. But then your phone starts heating up, the battery drops from 100 to 10%, and you start thinking, "I haven't done anything special yet!" Now wait a minute... maybe Instagram has scorched you.

Instagram's background party was going on silently

Recently, millions of Android users have complained about a problem that is not visible but tires the phone deeply. People are saying that the Instagram app is silently sucking the battery of their phone - that too, when the app is not even opened!

Some people's phones started getting so hot that they felt as if they were about to explode. Discussions about this 'hidden heat' became common on social media.

Google came into the field and gave alert

When the complaints piled up, Google itself had to come forward. It clearly said, "If you use Instagram and are an Android user, update the app immediately." Because the old version is draining your device and ruining the battery.

Instagram has also released an update — version 382.0.0.49.84, which was launched on May 28.

Instagram Lite: Relief for a while

Some smart users got rid of the problem by installing the Instagram Lite app. According to them, a lot of difference was seen in battery consumption with the Lite version. That is, the real culprit was the old version of Instagram, which was quietly 'partying with data and battery' in the background.

Which phones were most affected?

Google did not clarify which brands or models were most affected by this. But technical sources say that Pixel phones updated in May were the most affected. Other brands like Samsung, Xiaomi, and OnePlus were also partially affected.

What to do now?

If you are an Instagram user, go to the Play Store immediately and update the app to the latest version. Otherwise, the next time you watch a reel, the phone's battery may give up. Social media is important, but ignoring the health of technology is not.

Instagram is no longer just a source of entertainment; it can now also become the biggest enemy of your phone's battery. The right information, at the right time, can save the life of your device.
