Iphone 17 pro launches soon (Social Media)
Tech News: Apple is going to introduce the iPhone 17 Series on September 9 at its upcoming Awe Dropping event. Whenever the company is about to launch a new iPhone series, a lot of discussions start before that. The biggest discussion this time is about the complete disappearance of the physical SIM slot. This means that many models of the iPhone 17 series can now come with only eSIM support.
Currently, in the US, the iPhone 14 is being offered with eSIM-only models by removing the SIM tray. But now reports suggest that this change could extend to many countries in Europe. This could include France, Germany, Italy, Spain and the Netherlands.
According to a MacRumors report, Apple has made eSIM training programs compulsory for its authorized resellers in these countries. Employees will have to complete this training by September 5 through Apple's SEED app.
Apple started removing the physical SIM slot in the US with the iPhone 14 series in 2022. Now with the iPhone 17 series, this step can expand to a larger market. It has many advantages - there is no fear of SIM theft or loss. It can be activated and deactivated instantly. There is a facility to use multiple profiles in a single phone.
Till now, in markets like India, the option of both physical SIM slot and eSIM has been given. But with this change, it seems that in future, iPhones can be completely eSIM-only in India as well as other countries.
The design and features of the iPhone 17 Series can be seen. Apart from this, new iOS updates, announcement of eSIM-only models and some new Apple Watch and Mac devices can also make an entry.
