Recorded in a public place, the video shows the man walking around the group; at times he zooms his camera to take shots of their luggage, saying in front of them, "Refugees from India." He continues taunting them, sarcastically asking, "Where are the white people in Canada?" The group is visibly disturbed, with some students showing awkward looks at the camera while another smiles back in confusion.
The video sparked a firestorm of anger on the web. Many called the racism by the man very blunt. One person said the success of the immigrants hurts nobody. Another said, "They don't need to be referred to as refugees when they have proper visas to stay in Canada." The people are asked to be respected and understood, especially as the students came to seek better educational opportunities in the country.
