Man's Viral Status With Fake Notes Ends In Real Theft; Friend Allegedly Robs House (AI)
Nagpur: Social media has become an essential part of everyone's life, and flaunting oneself through posts to go viral has become common nowadays.
Recently, new news has been surfacing online where a man in Nagpur, Maharashtra, flaunting his fake money was proved fraud by his own friend when he tried to rob him.
The story began when a video on status was posted by the man to flaunt in front of his friends. The footage which he posted was AI generated which showed him holding a large amount of cash and his daughter playing with the notes like nothing.
The man's friend saw the status and believed that it was true due to his lack of knowledge in technology. He was convinced by the clip and thought greed pulled him towards robbery. The friend's intention slipped, and he planned to steal the money along with other accomplices.
But when they robbed the house and found out it was all fake, their greed grew, which made them threaten to kill the man. They sent threats to murder him and asked for a ransom of Rs 40 lakh continuously. At one point, the man got irritated by the constant poking and contacted the Beltarodi police in Nagpur.
As per the report, the police arrested two accused and shared the details. The police inspector, Sachin Aher, stated, "This entire incident occurred due to a fake status of wealth posted on social media. After receiving the complaint, the police took immediate action and arrested two accused in the case. Further investigation is underway."
The incident was a case that highlighted how social media has led people to become fake and show something that they are actually not. It is also evidence that false rumors and fake flaunts in the digital world may lead someone to serious life issues.
The use of AI-generated content should be used wisely and in the right place.
