New Delhi: The Palavancha town of Bhadradri Kothagudem district of Telangana is in the news this time during Ganesh Utsav for a special reason. Here, the idols of Ganpati Bappa have been decorated with real notes in two different pandals. A total of currency notes worth Rs 2.90 crore have been placed in both the pandals. This event has become a center of attraction among the people after the pictures and videos of Ganesh Ji decorated with notes surfaced on social media. Devotees from surrounding areas are also reaching Palvancha to see this unique adornment of Bappa.
The idol of Lord Ganesha has been decorated with notes worth about Rs 1.40 crore in the Ganesh Utsav organised by the Kapu community in Palavancha. The notes have been arranged in such a way that the entire decoration looks like a grand flower garland and design from a distance. Devotees reaching the pandal are seen stopping for some time to look at this unique decoration and also taking pictures of it.
In the second pandal, youth organisation 'Team Ekdant' has used new notes worth about Rs 1.50 crore to decorate the idol of Ganapati. The organisers have tried to give a different look to the pandal by putting the currency in decorative designs. The decoration of both the pandals has made the Ganesh Utsav of Palavancha special this time.
According to organisers, donations for the event were raised from local businessmen and others. After this, new currency notes were obtained in exchange for the amount raised with the help of banks. Organisers say that after decorating the notes, a process is also followed to safely deposit them back into the banking system.
Apart from decoration with notes, this time Gajapati theme has also been prepared in the pandal. The idol of Ganapati has been presented in a special way amidst the huge and attractive decoration. With the use of lights and decorative materials, the entire atmosphere of the pandal is visible in the colors of the festival. A large number of people are reaching here amid security arrangements.
