After petrol langar, they have announced a plan to distribute free iPhones. According to reports, information regarding this initiative is being disseminated to people through WhatsApp groups. However, detailed official information about how many iPhones will be distributed, who will be eligible and what will be the entire process of distribution has not been revealed yet.
Rakesh Trehan had earlier come into limelight for the announcement of 'Petrol Langar' in Chandigarh. He had announced petrol coupons of Rs 500 for two-wheeler and three-wheeler drivers and Rs 1,000 for four-wheelers. After his announcement, a large number of people reached petrol pumps. The administration had to intervene after the situation deteriorated due to heavy rain and crowd.
Trehan has said that iPhone will be anchored after petrol. In media reports, this has been described as his next big initiative. However, clear information regarding iPhone model, number, distribution date and selection of beneficiaries has not been made public yet. Therefore, at present it is being seen only as an announced plan.
After the news of free iPhone came out, people's eyes were on the WhatsApp group and social media updates, through which information related to this initiative is being shared. In such a situation, there is curiosity among people to know whether there will be any kind of registration to get the phone or not and on what basis the selection will be done. At present, detailed rules on these questions are yet to be revealed by the organiser.
According to reports, Rakesh Trehan is originally from Amritsar and is known as 'Raja the King'. His father was involved in textile business. Trehan says that he has been investing in cryptocurrency and stock market since 2010 and spends a part of the profits from the investment in social service. However, information related to his income and assets is based on his own claims.
Even before iPhone and Petrol, Trehan had organised different types of langars in Chandigarh. According to reports, fast food and cold drinks were distributed to people along with Rs 500 notes in an event organised in Sector 8. For this reason, there is a constant discussion among the people about his style of 'langar'.
After the announcement of free petrol, a large number of people reached petrol pumps on August 18. Despite heavy rain, people kept waiting for hours. Traffic and order were affected due to increase in crowd. After this the matter of postponing petrol langar came to light. Later Trehan said that such an event would not be organised again without the permission of the administration and appealed to the people not to crowd the petrol pumps for now.
The announcement of distributing free iPhones has certainly attracted people's attention, but the date of distribution, number of phones and eligibility rules are not yet clear. In such a situation, it will be necessary to verify any personal information, bank details or money based on any WhatsApp message or social media post. It will be known in what form the iPhone anchor will be organised only after the official process is clarified from the organiser's side.
