My heart is full; I could not have asked for more validation. My solo mujra is one of the songs in the series. I used her song "Ye kya jagah hai doston" from "Umrao Jaan" as an example for that. She is the epitome of an icon and has served as both my inspiration and my hero. I was moved and left stunned by her kind remarks and admiration for my performance in "Heeramandi." I truly will not forget this evening or her blessings."

Sanjay Leela Bhansali is the director of the much awaited television series "Heeramandi," which stars Richa Chadha, Manisha Koirala, Sonakshi Sinha, Aditi Rao Hydari, Sanjeeda Shaikh, and Sharmin Segal among its great ensemble cast. Fardeen Khan's return will also be commemorated in the show.
