New Delhi: Although Dhurandhar is banned in Pakistan, the blockbuster Bollywood movie seems to have hit a chord across the border.

How have Pakistanis received the movie?

A video which has gone viral on social media platforms shows a two women performing a choreographed dance to the film’s title track. In the video, the two women are seen dancing to the hit item song Shararat, featuring Ayesha Khan and Krystle Dsouza. 

In the video, the two women are dressed in shararas, similar to Ayesha and Krystle's looks in the song. They were seen performing in front of wedding guests, moving in perfect sync and recreating the same dance steps, including the hooksteps featured in the track.

How have netizens reacted?

The video has provoked a range of reactions from netizens, with several also criticising the women for performing to a Bollywood track despite ongoing tensions between the two countries.

"They cannot do without Bollywood," a netizen commented, while another joked, "Pakistan literally crossed 1.8 million pirated downloads of Dhurandhar. Ban nahi hota toh Dhurandhar would have easily crossed 1800 crores by now." 

Another netizen added, "Well done, this song is made for a great dance. Music is a language of universe."

What is Dhurandhar about? 

Dhurandhar is inspired by real-life events with the brutal gang wars in Karachi in the 1990s and early 2000s forming a blood soaked backdrop to the film. The film draws on true incidents to depict India's fight against terrorism and its covert operations inside Pakistan.

Directed by Aditya Dhar of Uri: The Surgical Strike fame, the film also features Sanjay Dutt, Akshaye Khanna, Arjun Rampal, Sara Arjun, R Madhavan, Rakesh Bedi, Manav Gohil, Danish Pandor, Saumya Tandon, and Gaurav Gera, among others.
