N Rangasamy Takes Oath As Puducherry Chief Minister For Fifth Term (X)
Puducherry: All India NR Congress (AINRC) leader N Rangasamy on Wednesday took oath as the Chief Minister of Puducherry for a record fifth term as the AINRC-led NDA government retained power after the April 9 elections, which marks another milestone in his long political career.
Governor K Kailashnathan on Wednesday administered the oath of office to N Rangasamy as the next Chief Minister of Puducherry, days after the NDA alliance secured a comfortable victory in the Assembly elections, the results of which were declared on May 4.

BJP leader A Namassivayam also took oath as a Cabinet Minister in the Puducherry government.
The oath-taking ceremony took place at Lok Bhavan, where Lieutenant Governor K. Kailashnathan administered the oath at exactly 9:47 am. Senior leaders, including BJP election in-charge Dr Mansukh Mandaviya, BJP National President Nitin Nabin, BJP Puducherry in-charge Nirmal Kumar Surana, and State BJP President VP Ramalingam attended the event, and participated in a roadshow alongside Rangasamy from the airport to the venue.

This is Rangasamy's fifth term as Chief Minister of Puducherry. In the April 9 assembly elections, the AINRC contested 16 seats and won 12, while its alliance partner, the BJP, contested 10, winning four. The AIADMK and Latchiya Jananayaka Katchi (LJK) won one seat each, bringing the NDA's total to 18 in the 30-member assembly. A coalition government has been formed again in Puducherry.
