Mamata Banerjee Signals Zero Tolerance on Any EVM Interference (Image Courtesy: Instagram)
Kolkata: Mamata Banerjee on Friday took a tough stance on the allegations of EVM tampering. After spending about three hours in a strong room in Kolkata, she clearly said that if anyone tried to tamper with the machines or the counting process, she would make it a “life-and-death fight."
She said that after watching some CCTV footage on TV, she suspected that something was going wrong somewhere. After this, she herself reached the strong room at Sakhawat Memorial School, where the EVMs of Bhawanipur seat are kept, to take stock of the situation.
Mamata Banerjee said that initially the central security forces tried to stop her from going inside, but she cited her authority. As per election rules, candidates are allowed to go till the strong room, after which they are given entry.
Our media-savvy @CEOWestBengal, Mr. Manoj Kumar Agarwal, should prioritise his constitutional mandate over late-night press conferences. While he is busy managing optics, @BJP4India has been caught on CCTV attempting to forcefully breach sealed ballot boxes at the Netaji Indoor… pic.twitter.com/saeBC7n9n5

Trinamool Congress (TMC) has made serious allegations on the basis of a viral video. The party claims that at some places ballot boxes were being opened without the presence of authorized representatives, which is a major violation of the election process.
TMC has accused Bharatiya Janata Party and the Election Commission of working together to influence the elections. The party says that this is not just a technical glitch but could be part of a bigger conspiracy.
The party also said that if orders are given, thousands of supporters can reach there within a few minutes, but they have decided to maintain peace while respecting the law. Also warned that if anyone tried to touch the EVM, there would be serious consequences.
Before counting of votes, Mamata Banerjee has asked her workers to keep a 24-hour vigil. She appealed to all the candidates and leaders to be present at the counting center themselves and keep an eye on every activity.
BJP and their compromised Election Commission have no idea who they are dealing with.
They have imported operatives from other states to swarm the area outside the Netaji Indoor Stadium, staging a media spectacle to mask their fear. We do not need to mobilize. At one command… pic.twitter.com/PHQk7K5fiQ

Election Commission of India has termed all the allegations of TMC as false. The Commission says that all the strong rooms are sealed as per the rules and there has been no unauthorized entry.
BJP seems to be getting lead in many exit polls, due to which there is a possibility of a big change in the politics of the state. However, in some surveys the competition has also been said to be tough, hence the final results will be clear only on May 4.
BJP’s game plan is out in the open, and it is a blueprint for failure.
They deleted legitimate voters through SIR. They failed. They purged neutral officials and installed their own stooges. That failed too. They even attempted a midnight heist at the Netaji Indoor Stadium… pic.twitter.com/EJU8CRncE2

At present the atmosphere is very tense and the round of allegations and counter-allegations is going on. Now everyone's eyes are fixed on the day of counting of votes, when it will be clear who the public has actually supported.
