Former Uttar Pradesh DGP Prashant Kumar recently visited the Vrindavan ashram of saint Premanand Maharaj along with his wife Dimple Verma and daughter. During the meeting, he opened up about his life’s struggles and responsibilities. In return, Premanand Maharaj gave him spiritual guidance and a fresh perspective on how to deal with sorrow, family duties, and the next phase of life after retirement.

Premanand Maharaj’s invaluable teachings on life

During the meeting, Premanand Maharaj told Prashant Kumar that he had dedicated a major part of his life to the service of the nation and society. Now that he has retired, this is the time to devote himself to the remembrance and contemplation of God. Maharaj advised him to perform such deeds that he may attain human life even in his next birth. He emphasized that remembrance of God protects one from all adversities and sorrows, and that it is the greatest support in human life.

A new learning regarding daughter’s marriage

Prashant Kumar’s wife, Dimple Verma, shared with Premanand Maharaj her concern about their daughter’s marriage. To this, Maharaj gave a very inspiring reply. He said that a daughter’s marriage too is, in a way, service to God. He explained that God himself comes to us in the form of family service, and we must perform this service with complete dedication. Maharaj further said that God has already chosen a life partner for the daughter; we simply need to make the effort to find him. In this way, he connected family responsibilities with spiritual duty.

The ultimate goal of human life – remembrance of God

Premanand Maharaj taught Prashant Kumar the most important lesson of life. He said that the ultimate and supreme fruit of human life is that when our body comes to rest, it should depart in the remembrance of God. He told Prashant Kumar that God has given him everything in life, and now he should spend time in solitude, contemplating God. This contemplation will make his life even more meaningful and will provide him with inner peace.
