Mathura: Premanand Maharaj - a renowned figure in Vrindavan and a spiritual beacon for millions of devotees across the country and abroad - has issued a special message for his followers. Maharaj Premanand has conveyed a specific message to his devotees regarding his current period of seclusion ('ekantvas') and vow of silence ('maun vrat').

What did Premanand Maharaj tell his followers?

Premanand Maharaj stated, "Whether I remain physically present or not, your Guru—your spiritual guide—will always reside within your minds." He explained that since he is currently observing seclusion and a vow of silence, he may not be able to appear before them or grant personal audiences; nevertheless, he remains constantly by their side and holds immense love for his devotees.

An advisory was issued by Saint Premanand Maharaj's ashram regarding his walking tours (padyatras), private audiences (ekantik darshan), and private conversations (ekantik vartalap), announcing the cancellation of all such scheduled programs. Consequently, hundreds of thousands of devotees arriving to seek Maharaj's 'darshan' were left disappointed and compelled to return empty-handed.

In response to this, Maharaj stepped out of the ashram to grant 'darshan' to devotees. Offering words of solace, Maharaj urged the devotees not to harbor any anxiety whatsoever. He said, "Whether we meet in person or not, whether we speak to one another or not—I love you all deeply. If you truly have faith in this love, then simply focus your minds upon the lotus feet of Shri Ji (the Divine Beloved)." Reassuring his devotees, he emphasized that his physical presence before them is not a prerequisite; even without speaking, he will remain eternally present within the minds and thoughts of his devotees.

What is Premanand Maharaj's message?

In his message, Maharaj emphasized the importance of living a self-reliant and spiritually centered life. He stated, "Your sustenance and well-being are provided for by your 'Ishta' (your chosen deity/Lord), not by any human being. Should you ever begin to feel that your life is dependent upon the support of another individual, you must immediately detach yourself from that reliance." He conveyed a message to the devotees urging them to liberate themselves from worldly anxieties, to remain fearless, unburdened, and free from sorrow, and to dedicate their entire time solely to the chanting of the Divine Name (Naam Jap) and devotional singing (Bhajan).

Often, a saint's observance of silence and seclusion is perceived as an act of detachment or withdrawal from the material world; however, Maharaj Premanand has presented a unique and distinct perspective on this practice. He stated that this vow of silence and solitary retreat is not for his own sake, but rather entirely for the sake of his devotees. "Whatever was destined to happen to me has already come to pass; now, everything that is currently unfolding is solely for the welfare of you all." Prem Anand Maharaj Ji clarified that this silence is not permanent; he assured his devotees that he would let them know when the time comes for him to observe a period of true, absolute silence.

In his message, Prem Anand Maharaj Ji advised his devotees to follow a single path: engage deeply in *bhajan* (devotional singing), constantly chant the Divine Name, remain completely surrendered to Radha Rani, and live a life of happiness. Prem Anand Maharaj Ji reassured everyone, saying, "Do not harbor any anxiety whatsoever. Whether we meet in person or not, whether I speak to you or not—know that I love each and every one of you deeply. You need not worry about how your spiritual upliftment will be achieved. Even without words, your Guru will remain ever-present within your minds. The quiet, solitary retreat I am currently observing is not a silence intended for my own isolation; rather, it is a means to offer you my service."
