New Delhi: Vijaya Ekadashi is falling in the month of February in 2026. This fast is observed on Ekadashi of Shukla Paksha of Phalgun month. This year Vijaya Ekadashi is on 13 February. The fast will be broken on 14th February. This fast is dedicated to Lord Vishnu. By observing a fast on this day a person gets victory and success.
According to the Hindu calendar, the Vijaya Ekadashi tithi will start at 07:52 am on February 12 and the tithi will end at 09:55 am on February 13. Based on Udaya Tithi, the fast will be observed on 13th February.
This fast is observed to attain victory. Lord Vishnu conquered the demons on this day. Wishes are fulfilled by fasting. One gets freedom from sins. One gets the blessing of having children and success.
On this day, the fasting person should eat satvik food. Use only fruits, milk and curd. Eat food without salt. You can use rock salt. Have fruits at night.
On this day, the fasting person should avoid salt, grains and spices. Do not lie at all, do not be angry, and do not condemn. Have virtuous thoughts.
Make a resolution after waking up in the morning. Keep fasting throughout the day. Then worship in the evening. Eat only fruits at night. Perform Parana the next day on Dwadashi.

The glory of Vijaya Ekadashi can be gauged from the fact that it is mentioned in religious texts. It is said that when Lord Rama reached the seashore to conquer Lanka, Bagadalabha Muni advised him to observe a fast on Vijaya Ekadashi. It was due to the effect of this fast that he achieved victory over Ravana. Since then this fast has been observed for victory over enemies and to overcome the challenges of life.
