JSW Motors To Launch THIS SUV To Rival Tata Sierra And Creta Electric; Know Features, Price

New Delhi: If you're thinking of buying a new vehicle, wait a few more days. JSW Motors is preparing to launch the Chery iCar V23 SUV in India. A camouflaged test mule was recently spotted on the road during testing. Rushlane has shared the spy shots. This V23-powered SUV will be the third product in JSW Motors' lineup, which includes rebadged versions of Chinese brands like Jetour, Jaecco, and iCar, all of which are sub-brands of Chery Automobile. The iCar V23 spotted during road testing is said to be JSW Motors' third launch. The company may launch it after the Jetour T2-based PHEV and the Jaecoo J5-based SUV. Let's find out the details.

Any similiarities with the G-Wagon?

The test model seen in the spy shots has a boxy design. Although the rear of the SUV is obscured in the spy shots, a bulge is visible on the tailgate, possibly a storage compartment for charging cables. G-Wagon-like horizontal taillights can also be seen below. Additionally, the SUV's prominent wheel arches, a sidestep, and a kinked rear window line will attract customers' attention.

What will be the range of the battery?

In the international market, the iCar V23 comes with two battery pack options. One is a 59.93kWh unit, paired with a rear-mounted motor, producing 136hp and 180Nm of torque. The other is an 81.76kWh unit, paired with a dual-motor setup, producing 211hp and 292Nm of torque. The claimed CLTC range is 401km for the 59.93kWh model and 510km for the 81.76kWh model. DC charging speeds range from 85kW to over 100kW.

What will be the price?

This SUV, sold in China, has a unique and boxy design. It measures 4.2 meters in length and has a wheelbase of 2.7 meters. The new version of the Cherry iCar V23 is expected to start at less than ₹20 lakh. It will be assembled at JSW Motors' Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar plant. It is expected to be launched in 2028. It will rival electric midsize SUVs like the Hyundai Creta Electric, Mahindra BE6, VinFast VF6, Maruti Suzuki E Vitara, MG ZS EV, Toyota Abella, Tata Curve EV, and the upcoming Tata Sierra EV.
