Auto News: Kawasaki has rolled out the 2026 Z900 in India, priced at ₹9.99 lakh ex-showroom. The company has not made changes to the motorcycle’s engine or mechanics. Instead, the new edition focuses on cosmetic tweaks and tech improvements. This updated version aims to offer buyers the same performance they trust, combined with modern connectivity and safety features. The Z900 continues to be one of Kawasaki’s most popular naked sport models in the premium motorcycle segment.
The most visible change on the 2026 Z900 is the new color schemes. The bike now comes in Candy Lime Green with Metallic Carbon Gray, and Metallic Matte Graphenesteel Gray with Metallic Flat Spark Black. These fresh paint options replace the earlier red shade, which is no longer available. Despite the changes, the bike retains its sharp Sugomi design DNA, with aggressive styling, a compact LED headlamp, and muscular bodywork that define its streetfighter appeal.
While the engine remains unchanged, Kawasaki has packed the Z900 with advanced technology for better control and safety. The package includes an IMU, Kawasaki Cornering Management Function, and 3-mode Traction Control. Riders also get Electronic Cruise Control, Power Modes, and Electronic Throttle Valves for a customizable riding experience. Assist and Slipper Clutch, Kawasaki Quick Shifter, dual-channel ABS, and an Economical Riding Indicator round out the list of features, giving riders confidence in every condition.
The Z900 now offers a 5-inch TFT color display with IPS LCD technology, improving visibility in all conditions. Bluetooth connectivity has also been included, allowing riders to pair their smartphones through Rideology The App. With this app, riders can check calls, emails, and even vehicle data. It also provides access to riding logs, turn-by-turn navigation, and settings adjustments for both the bike and its digital instrument cluster. This makes the Z900 modern and connected for today’s riders.
Mechanically, Kawasaki has not altered the bike’s setup. It continues to be powered by a 948cc inline-4 liquid-cooled engine. The motor now delivers 125hp and 98.6 Nm of torque, which is slightly higher than the earlier model by 1hp and 1.2 Nm. This ensures the Z900 remains a high-performance naked motorcycle with smooth acceleration, reliable power delivery, and thrilling performance for enthusiasts who love long rides as well as city commutes.
By retaining its mechanical strengths while upgrading style and technology, Kawasaki has ensured the 2026 Z900 appeals to both loyal fans and new buyers. The new edition balances sporty looks with practical features, making it suitable for a wide variety of riders. The focus on safety, performance, and digital connectivity reflects how the company is adapting to modern expectations without losing the character of the Z900.
The 2026 Z900 enters India’s premium motorcycle market at a competitive price. It will rival other high-performance naked bikes from brands like Triumph, Honda, and Yamaha. Kawasaki’s decision to enhance tech features while keeping the engine unchanged could give it an edge among riders who value both performance and modern convenience. With Diwali approaching, the new launch is expected to attract motorcycle enthusiasts looking for a powerful yet stylish upgrade.
