Kia India unveiled the Carens Clavis on May 8, 2025, a premium MPV designed to elevate the Carens lineup with advanced features and a bold design. Available in seven variants, the Clavis offers a blend of practicality and luxury, with the top-spec HTX and HTX+ trims boasting a dual-pane panoramic sunroof and Level-2 ADAS, setting it apart in the competitive MPV segment.

Seven Variants for Diverse Needs
The Kia Carens Clavis comes in seven trims: HTE, HTE(O), HTK, HTK+, HTK+(O), HTX, and HTX+. Catering to varied budgets and preferences, the lineup includes both 6- and 7-seater configurations, with the 6-seater option exclusive to the HTX+ trim. Engine options mirror the standard Carens, featuring a 1.5L naturally aspirated petrol (113 bhp), a 1.5L turbo petrol (160 bhp), and a 1.5L diesel (116 bhp), paired with manual, iMT, or automatic transmissions. Prices, expected to range from ₹11 lakh to ₹22 lakh (ex-showroom), will be announced on May 23, 2025.

Panoramic Sunroof in Top Trims
The dual-pane panoramic sunroof, a significant upgrade from the single-pane version in the standard Carens, is available only in the HTX and HTX+ variants. This feature enhances the cabin’s airy feel, offering an unobstructed sky view, a favorite among Indian buyers, with 28% of MPV customers opting for sunroof-equipped models. The sunroof complements other premium amenities like 64-colour ambient lighting and ventilated front seats, making these trims ideal for luxury-seeking families.

Level-2 ADAS for Enhanced Safety
The HTX and HTX+ trims introduce Level-2 ADAS, featuring over 20 autonomous functions, including adaptive cruise control, lane keep assist, forward collision avoidance, and blind-spot monitoring. This safety suite, absent in the standard Carens, positions the Clavis as a tech-forward option. Additional safety features across all variants include six airbags, a 360-degree camera, and electronic stability control.

Premium Positioning and Appeal
With its 26.62-inch dual panoramic display, Bose audio, and new design cues like the digital tiger face, the Clavis targets buyers seeking sophistication. Bookings opened on May 9, 2025, for ₹25,000, positioning it against rivals like the Maruti XL6 and Hyundai Alcazar.
