Auto News: Mahindra is preparing to launch the updated XUV700 Facelift in 2026, with production expected to begin in December 2025. The company is also working on the all-new XEV 9S alongside this facelift model. Both SUVs are likely to hit the market early 2026, aiming to attract buyers looking for advanced features and performance. The upcoming XUV700 is expected to get major updates inspired by the XEV 9e. Industry insiders claim this upgrade will give the SUV a more premium feel. Customers may experience noticeable improvements in technology, design and overall comfort.
As seen from spy images, the facelifted XUV700 might feature a redesigned front grille with stronger styling. Bigger air inlets and new twin-pod headlamps are expected. LED DRL signature and front bumper may receive updates for a bolder appearance. The main metal panels on bonnet, doors and fenders are likely to remain unchanged. However, new aerodynamically optimised alloy wheels could enhance the look from the side. At the rear, connected tail-light strip and refined bumper design may replace the current style. These changes aim to boost road presence without losing the original SUV identity.
Major upgrades are expected inside the cabin. Reports suggest the 2026 XUV700 could receive the same triple-screen layout used in the XEV 9e. This could significantly elevate the interior experience. Along with this, a high-end Harman/Kardon sound system is likely to be included. The SUV may continue to offer both six and seven-seat configurations as before. Users can expect improved connectivity, comfort and infotainment options. If implemented, these features may make it one of the tech-rich SUVs in its segment. The focus seems to be on enhancing driver and passenger engagement.
Mahindra is unlikely to modify the engine options in this facelift. The SUV is expected to retain the 2.0-litre turbo petrol engine producing around 200 bhp with 380 Nm torque. It may also continue with the 2.2-litre turbo diesel available in two power outputs of 155 bhp and 185 bhp, generating 360 Nm and 450 Nm torque. Transmission will include a 6-speed manual and 6-speed torque converter automatic. The AWD system will likely remain exclusive to the diesel automatic variant. These setups aim to deliver strong performance for long-distance and highway users.
With design and feature upgrades, Mahindra may try to position the facelifted XUV700 against higher-segment SUVs. Customers looking for value with premium elements could find this model appealing. The triple screen, upgraded sound system and improved aesthetics might give it an edge. However, engines remaining the same means performance upgrades will mainly depend on tuning and software changes. Mahindra is known for balancing pricing and features, which could work in its favour. Expectations are high due to the popularity of the existing XUV700.
Currently, the Mahindra XUV700 is priced between ₹13.66 lakh and ₹23.71 lakh (ex-showroom). The facelifted version is likely to see a slight price increase due to design and tech upgrades. Experts suggest the starting price may cross ₹14 lakh. Buyers could pay more for higher variants with advanced features. However, Mahindra may still keep it competitive to attract a larger customer base. Pricing strategy will play a crucial role during launch.
Production of the updated Mahindra XUV700 is expected to begin in December 2025. Market launch is likely in early 2026 after final testing and reveal. The global debut of Mahindra XEV 9S is already scheduled for 27 November 2025. Both vehicles may be highlighted together during marketing campaigns. Automotive enthusiasts are closely watching for more details. With a strong feature upgrade expected, the facelift could generate high-volume bookings post-launch.
