Automobile News: Maruti Suzuki Invicto has earned a 5-star rating in the Bharat NCAP crash test. The MPV scored 30.43 out of 32 points for Adult Occupant Protection (AOP) and 45 out of 49 points for Child Occupant Protection (COP). It is the fourth Maruti Suzuki car to undergo Bharat NCAP testing, following the Dzire, Baleno, and Victoris. The Invicto’s high safety rating is backed by a range of advanced features. Here’s a closer look at what the vehicle offers.
The standard safety features of the Invicto include six airbags, a rearview camera, an electronic parking brake with auto-hold, ABS with EBD, Vehicle Stability Control, and an SOS emergency call button. The MPV also comes with seatbelt reminders, ISOFIX mounts for child seats, front and rear disc brakes, and a speed warning buzzer. The Alpha+ variant adds more safety equipment such as a 360-degree parking camera with dynamic guidelines, front parking sensors, tyre pressure monitoring, auto-dimming IRVM, a rear window defogger, and an anti-theft security system.
In terms of safety scores, the Invicto achieved 30.43 out of 32 for Adult Occupant Protection. It performed very well in the frontal offset deformable barrier test with 14.43/16 points and scored full marks (16/16) in the side impact test. The side pole impact test was also successfully cleared. Dual frontal airbags, side curtain airbags, seatbelt pretensioners, and load limiters helped the vehicle achieve these results.
For Child Occupant Protection, the Invicto scored 45 out of 49 points, making it one of the safest MPVs for children. It achieved a full dynamic score of 24/24, providing strong protection for both 18-month and 3-year-old crash test dummies. The MPV has ISOFIX anchor points, supports i-Size child seats, and includes an airbag cut-off switch for added safety.
The Invicto comes with advanced safety technology across all variants. Electronic Stability Control (ESC), pedestrian protection systems, and seatbelt reminders for every row are standard features.
The Bharat NCAP tests were conducted on the Alpha+ 7-seater and Zeta+ 8-seater versions of the Invicto. The MPV weighs 1,946 kg and is built on Maruti Suzuki’s hybrid 2.0L CVT platform.
